ANA Updates COVID-19 March 23, 2020

ANA is advocating on all fronts – with the White House, members of Congress and the media -for steps to protect and sustain nurses and other frontline providers so they can care for patients during this crisis. Our top priorities are increasing the supply of appropriate PPE, creative, flexible staffing protocols, and removing testing barriers. Major print and broadcast media are regularly interviewing representatives of ANA. Chief Nursing Officer Debbie Hatmaker spoke with CNN's Wolf Blitzer last night. Yesterday Cheryl Peterson, ANA Vice President, Nursing Programs,  addressed a townhall on a PBS NewsHour coronavirus special.  Today Debbie will be on Jake Tapper's show on CNN and is scheduled to appear on Face the Nation this Sunday. The best ways to stay up to date on ANA's activities are to check the  Coronavirus webpage, follow ANA's Twitter and Facebook pages and open ANA's emails. We are sending all member emails each week and providing updates each Thursday in the Nursing Insider e-newsletter.

If you have not done so, it is essential you join the tens of thousands of nurses who have called on Congress to take action on PPE. Please add your voice to ANA's call to action for Congress.

Also some have asked about access to video clips from some of ANA's media engagement.  In this Google doc folder you will find the clips, as well as the developing the summaries below.
