ANA Advocates for Nurses & Emergency Measures

June 29, 2020

ANA continues to advocate for the support and protection of nurses on the COVID-19 frontlines and the entire health care system during the pandemic emergency. ANA is also representing nurses' voices on innovations and emergency measures that should continue after the emergency is over.  Please consider reviewing the recent letters that are posted on Nursing World at the links below.

  • In a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, ANA advocates for expanded telehealth and APRN waivers to be made permanent. However, we caution that some other waivers should expire out of concern for RN staffing and patient quality.

  • In a letter to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, ANA urges the agency to return to pre-pandemic standards and enforcement for personal protective equipment that health care workers need to stay safe.

Use your voice to advocate for APRNs and ultimately our patients, as we continue to navigate our way through the pandemic and be at the forefront of continuing change in the healthcare.
