CDPHE Rulemaking Hearing Healthcare Worker Vaccination

September 2, 2021

The Department of Public Health and Environment - State Board of Health will be holding a rulemaking hearing on Thursday, October 21st, 2021, 12:00 pm on rules regarding Revisions to 6 CCR 1011-1 Chapter 2. The hearing will be held at: 4300 Cherry Creek S. Drive, Denver CO 80246.

The purpose of this rulemaking is:

Though the COVID-19 vaccine is widely available in the state, approximately 30% of the healthcare workforce in the facilities the Department has authority over remain unvaccinated. With the rise of the Delta variant, ensuring that all workers in licensed healthcare facilities are vaccinated is one of the most effective means the state can take to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of all Coloradans and end the ongoing pandemic. The proposed rules require all licensed healthcare facilities to ensure their employees and direct contractors are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 31, 2021.

If you believe there will be a significant negative impact on small business, job creation or economic competitiveness, you may request that the Department of Regulatory Agencies require the rulemaking agency to prepare a cost-benefit analysis of a proposed rule or amendment. This request must be made to the Department of Regulatory Agencies by Wednesday, September 15th, 2021.

You may also submit comments directly to the rulemaking agency for the agency's consideration during the upcoming rulemaking hearing.

We hope this information is helpful to you. Thank you for taking the time to participate in the rulemaking process.
