The EMDR-IGTP-OTS provides a way to offer trauma therapy to a group of people who have gone through a common experience. By simultaneously processing individuals’ traumatic experiences in a group setting over a two-day period, we can rapidly reach more people with fewer resources. EMDR is one of the most effective interventions, helping people at the somatic, sensorial, emotional, and cognitive levels; people notice relief from stress symptoms and an increased ability to engage in life. The IGTP-OTS is specifically designed to work with prolonged, repeated, or multiple traumatic events or circumstances. Besides the advantage of being able to scale-up access to care, something that we very much need right now, participants in the IGTP-OTS do not need to verbalize the trauma; social support, peer support, self-care are all components of resiliency, this intervention helps at the neurobiological level.

This intervention is evidence-based, showing sustained reduction of PTSD, anxiety and depression symptoms.
