Colorado Center for Health Progress Seeking Input To Protect Immigrants

October 22, 2018

PROTECT OUR IMMIGRANTS

The proposed rule would punish immigrants that enroll in income-based programs they are eligible for, like Medicaid or SNAP, by denying them entry into the United States or denying their application for a green card. An individual denied entry is not able to reunite with their family in the US and an individual denied a green card is at risk of being deported. With this proposed rule change, families that are trying to live and work legally in the US risk being separated by deportation if they decide to use benefits that ensure they can see a doctor and that they have enough food when money is tight.

The public has the opportunity to comment on this proposed change from now until December 9. We need as many people as possible to submit comments so that we can stall, and hopefully defeat, this attack on immigrants and their families. Please show the Trump administration that we do not support its agenda of hate against our neighbors and families.

You can write your own comments or use some of the template comments we’ve compiled. Sharing data and personal stories is recommended.
