Take Action Now: Seek Congressional Support for Front Line Nurses

September 8, 2021

During yet another COVID-19 surge, the pandemic continues to place an unfair and inequitable burden on our health care delivery system and our nursing workforce who were already facing a nursing shortage prior to the pandemic.

Well over a year working on the frontlines of this pandemic have left a beleaguered nursing workforce overcome with burnout and stress leading many to resign or retire to escape the fatigue. Add to this a systemically underfunded pandemic response plan and it only further exasperates the existing nursing shortage. Addressing these priorities will improve the health and wellbeing of nurses and the patients for which they care.

Thanks to our nurses who have been selflessly on the frontlines of this pandemic and to those advocating for our nation’s health care providers.
