Call for Bylaws and/or Position Statement

The CNA Membership Assembly will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Bylaws Amendment Proposals must be in the hands of the Secretary two months prior to the meeting.

Please send your suggestions for amendments to me by July 15, 2018.  Do not worry about wording--just let me know what it is you would like to propose, and I will put it in to appropriate bylaws language and format.

Reference Proposals are also welcomed for discussion at the Membership Assembly. I would also like to receive these by July 15, 2018.  Here is the suggested format for a reference proposal:

Nurses for Political Action (NPAC) Event July 15, 2018

Your attendance is requested at the 2018 NPAC Fundraiser Sun July 15, 2-4 pm hosted by Ingrid Johnson at her home, 520 Poplar St, Denver (near 6th Ave & Quebec). Come meet the NPAC endorsed candidates (so far) to develop and strengthen nurse-legislator relationships, which are especially needed with the upcoming Nurse Practice Act Sunset. Friends of nursing and health care need our endorsements and financial assistance to get elected. 

Refreshments provided by Ingrid. Contribution of $100 or more encouraged (up to $575 allowed in this election cycle) but any amount is accepted. Please RSVP to [email protected].

Gov. Hickenlooper Announces Boards and Commissions Appointments

June 20, 2018

Gov. Hickenlooper today announced Boards and Commissions appointments to the Fire Service Training and Certification Advisory Board, Twelfth Judicial District Judicial Nominating Commission, State Board of Nursing, Board of Registered Psychotherapists, Colorado Student Leaders Institute Executive Board and Utilities Consumer Council.

The State Board of Nursing examines and licenses registered and practical nurses.  It approves nursing programs and standards, and investigates complaints filed against nurses.

Effective July 1, 2018 for terms expiring July 1, 2022:

  • Susan J. Brown, RN, MSN of Whitewater, to serve as a licensed professional nurse engaged in home health care, appointed; 
  • Lori Rae Hamilton, RN, MSN of Model, a licensed professional nurse engaged in practical nursing education in a program that prepares an individual for licensure, appointed; 
  • Brandy Valdez Murphy of Highlands Ranch, to serve as a member of the public, appointed; 
  • Jerriann Lingle Zimmerman of Littleton, to serve as a member of the public, appointed.
