Posted: June 8, 2017

Tuesday, June 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
2851 S. Parker Road, Aurora, Colo.

Please join us for the first of three scheduled Lunch & Learn educational sessions on the new End-Of-Life Options Act. This event is sponsored by the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of the Rockies. HPCAR is offering members of CNA a special rate of $35 to attend (non-members pay $50).

In this short video, Dr. Willett states that since the Colorado End-Of-Life Options Act went into effect, more of his patients are asking about medical aid in dying. The Role of Policy, Economics, and Technology in Achieving Care Continuity

May 30, 2017

The Role of Policy, Economics, and Technology in Achieving Care Continuity
June 20, 2017 | 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
Nurses are on the front lines of advancing patient outcomes. As a nurse, you strive to continuously improve quality of care and the patient experience. Part of that experience includes care coordination and care transitions, which promote value-based care. But with nurses pulled in multiple directions in a demanding, fast-paced work environment, how can you create a safe environment for patients across the care continuum? And how can nurse leaders achieve the best outcomes in nurse engagement and patient health?

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Triple Aim and value-based care make it imperative that nurses create a safe and engaging care environment for patients. Join ANA and award-winning author Dr. Beth Ann Swanson as she defines the role of nurse leaders and registered nurses in health care delivery, policy, and financial concerns, and how care coordination and care transitions can help ensure the best patient outcomes and staff engagement. Learn how you can help coordinate the patient care experience by balancing technology and innovations to increase nurse-patient interaction, while maintaining a safe and engaging nurse-patient relationship.
Attend this workshop and you will be able to:
  • Understand leadership roles for RNs in care coordination and care transitions
  • Learn to translate the RN's pivotal role in ensuring quality across the continuum of care
  • Describe emerging RN roles within the changing care enviornment
